The Arthur Silver design studio made outstanding contributions to all areas of the Applied Arts from 1880 until it was wound up in 1963. Many designs from the studio were not credited, as purchasers such as Liberty's preferred to use their own brand names and kept the identity of the designer to themselves... thus, through this exhibition, the work of one of the greatest 'ghost' organisations ever to work in the field of applied art can be seen.
492 items are listed, described and discussed: textiles, wallpaper, metalwork, interior design, furniture, Christmas cards, invitations, advertising and bookbindings.
